In Chinese societies, a red envelope or a red packet (Mandarin: hóngbāo) is a monetary gift which is given during holidays or special occasions. I wanted to use this bright & elegant fabric during Lunar New Year but Covid threw all of our plans out of whack and this dress idea got shelved! My daughter is smitten with this and refuses to allow me to put it up for sale (don’t worry, I have a lot more where this came from).
