Heidelberg is a town on the Neckar River in southwestern Germany. This was a custom order by Amy who wanted this exquisite scenery modeled.
The miniature models one of the many bridges on the Neckar River - Alte Brücke Heidelberg or the Old Heidelberg Bridge. A couple overlooks from the bridge onto the beautiful scenery. Also on the river is the Anleger Neckarsonne, a cruise boat and a smaller boat anchored beside the bank of the river. We also attempt to recreate the rippled look of the river with blue-black color water.
On the north side of the river are the stately homes. Also included is a small park with people sitting on benches and on the grass.
As we climb up the hill, we see Philosophenweg or Philosophers' Way which is a trail with breathtaking scenery. No wonder, it was a place of inspiration for many artists, poets, philosophers
On the south of the river is the town including the Heiliggeistkirche ( Church of the Holy Spirit ) and the Standesamt Heidelberg ( Registry Office ). A Classic Volkswagen van adds to the charm of this scenery as it makes its way into the town.
And finally, as we climb the hills, we find the ruined Heidelberg Castle.
